How Your Throat Chakra is Connected to Your Voting Rights

It's no joke that Nov. 6 will be an important day for exercising our right to vote. Voting is a powerful method of communicating our needs as American citizens.

This brought me to the very important realization that one of the best ways we can improve our usage of our throat chakra is by voting in the Nov. 6 midterm elections!

Not familiar with what exactly the heck a throat chakra is? The throat chakra (associated with the color BLUE) is the voice within us. Literally, our voice box that we use for speech and is one of the most profound tools as humans we can utilize in communicating. In other words, our throat chakra is an integral part of owning our personal power in this lifetime.

Okay, now, what is a chakra? Every single one of us carries seven chakras, which are in alignment with different types of spiritual energies we withhold in our human vessel. The goal is to maintain our chakras in balance so that we can remain in tune with in all aspects of our lives - not easy, but key to a healthy state of mind. Chakras are common ideologies and terms shared within the yoga community, but chakras are not only associated with yoga so don't think you need to be a Yogi to appreciate this knowledge! It's actually an Ayurvedic term.

The throat chakra is our fifth chakra (out of seven) and is majorly integral to providing us with the ability to speak our truth and live our most honest expression -- verbally.

So how's that in any relation to tomorrow's midterm elections? In order to initiate change we must spark the change within us. That means following through with our actions, intentions and ethics. Communicating our verbal wants and needs with good intent is how we open up our use of our throat chakra and stay true to our authentic selves.

Our current society is in desperate need of MORE authentic individuals owning their truth and demanding that others give us their most truest selves in return if they want to hold any public office position. Ethics are key to a healthy throat chakra and key to a healthy government.

So make your vote count by going out to the polls and voicing your opinions.

Don't let anyone tell you it doesn't matter, because the midterms are where we CAN MAKE THE MOST DIFFERENCE!
