Become a Crystal Stone Cleansing Pro
Once you realize how easy it is to cleanse your stones you'll think to yourself, "Wow, this is magically empowering!"
Here's the deal, there's no magic potion, no "hocus pocus" behind it, just good ol' intent and basic everyday items that you probably already own in order to jumpstart cleansing your gemstones effectively.
Why is it important to cleanse?
Upon possession of a new crystal stone, you'll want to immediately cleanse it in order to clear it of any unnecessary energy. This can be a combination of good or bad vibrations, but the point is to clear it and reset it so that you can get full use of your new baby. Unless you were given a gemstone that was specifically charged and set for you by someone as gift, then cleansing is a necessity.
So where do you begin?
You'll need to make sure that you either have sea salt or sage. I personally am a fan of using sage in order to smudge my stones. The choice is yours, however.
Option A) Sea Salt Water: From what I've researched, this method can be used for most stones, but you want to make sure that you don't harm the specific stones that react negatively to sea salt (e.g. amethyst, pyrite, lapis lazuli, and few others). You'll want to soak your gemstone(s) overnight in a container filled with water and a pinch of SEA SALT -- not table salt. Next day you'll want to wash the stone(s) under running water to rid of any salt residue.
Option B) Sage for Smudging: Smudging involves burning sage or smudge/incense sticks. You can purchase these online or at your local spiritual shop. I recommend using a feather to assist you with disseminating the smoke from the smudging process. Use the feather to fan the smoke across the gemstone(s). The duration is up to you. I usually do this for a minute and make sure I keep my intentions pure as I do so.
That's all there is to it! After cleansing you can then work on enerigizing the stone, which we're going to highlight in our next post. Stay tuned!
